I am an award winning web designer and developer from Northern California. I have worked in the industry for over 20 years. As the father of a child with Autism who loves the internet (especially Youtube), my focus is on usability and accessibility. I wrote my first program at age 12 in BASIC and moved on to C, Java, Delphi, and VisualBasic. I write PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, and CSS daily. I prefer to code by hand using a text editor like MS Visual Studio Code or Sublime Text. I love learning new things so I’m constantly picking up new coding languages, trying new frameworks, and experimenting with new platforms.
Outside of work I’m an accomplished outdoor and nature photographer. My work has been published in magazines, catalogues, travel guides, books, used in advertisements, shown nationally and internationally, sold in retail and big box stores, and displayed as part of an exhibit at the United States National Arboretum in Washington, D.C.
I cut my teeth in photography with a Nikon 35mm film camera and some ratty old, used lenses in Yosemite National Park and the surrounding Sierra.
In addition to photography, I travel, write and blog (though not as prolifically as I once did). If you’d like to check out my blogs please visit, YosemiteBlog.com, and The Daily Thing, both of which have been in circulation since 2004 although I don’t update them as much as I used to.
