Can someone explain please why I wake up extra early on days I can sleep in?

Building the stand alone app for RustPress.

Stand alone RustPress is almost done. Just a few more minor changes.

Still working on RustPress. It’s an intersting thought experiment.

Building in Rust again. Creating a static site generator that imports in WordPress format or database sql and then generates a static site out of it for speed and portability.

Took the day off because the boy has been having a massive meltdown.

Looking into installing Open Oscar Server to get my own AIM server running.

Head feels stuffy. Might be coming down with something.

Mowed the law this morning. It’s hot and humid outside from the monsoonal flow they’re blaming on El Nino.

Weed eating the dirty bits totally wiped me out.

Didn’t really feel like crawling out of bed this morning.

In a parallel universe where Kurt Cobain lives still there is no Foo Fighters and music is boring. Here’s to not being in a parallel universe.

Driving a pickuup truck when nthe only thing you ever haul is groceries or plants from the nursery is like wearing a cowboy hat and wranglers and saying you’re a cowboy and never working on a ranch.

California is the worlds 4th largest economy with a GDP of $4.25 trillion annually preceded by:

1. United States – $30.8 trillion

2. China – $19.6 trillion

3. Germany – $5 trillion

Also, California accounts for 13.8% of the United States GDP. More than any other state.

Slept a little better last night. Still woke up a hell of a lot.

For some reason this app is trying to schedule things on a holiday. Going to have to invest some time into making sure holidays can’t be picked.

NPC’s in Animal Crossing talk too much and too slow. Just sayin.

After years of playing World of Warcraft I think I’m done. The retail game is just something I don’t enjoy or will continue to play. I’ll continue to play classic and anniversary but if they push everyone to retail I’m going to cancel my subscriptions. I tried playing it again and just dislike where it’s gone so much. It’s lost the character of the original game in a bid to bring in more players.

Put new sheets on the bed and didn’t sleep well. 

A firework explosion from a neighbors house then swearing loudly is a clear indication of an impending hospital visit.

Did a 3 mile run with 2 miles walking. Ran 3 miles uninterrupted. First time since I was 12 that I’ve ran an uninterrupted mile. First mile: 10:22. Second mile: unrecorded. Third mile: 9:22. I’m pleased.

It was the 4th of July

No work today. I feel a lot of naps coming on.

I wonder if I could make an addon for World of Warcraft? I wonder if I should?

Hoping for a quiet day today.

Optometrist appointment went well. No macular degenerationa and no diabetic damage. Eye pressure was a bit high though. Felt nauseous for hours after having my eyes dilated.

Trying to fix the keys on my Corsair mechanical keyboard. The 3 and 4 buttons have stopped responding.

Also I missed posting on Satruday again.

Removed the keycaps and blew the key out and the caps. That appears to have worked.

Debating about getting a Switch 2.

It’s Friday. I bet you knew that.

I wonder what mischief will come my way today.

Testing my rust port. It’s pretty good. It’s used a lot of tokens. I’ve had to stop 3 times as I hit the wall. Currently waiting to finalize some things and squish some bugs before building out the installers. That’ll probably be in round 5. It will be completely cross platform for Linux, Windows and MacOS.

Just watched MKB’s video on the slate truck. 

The price is nice but for $24k you can pay a little more and get a nice Honda.

Totally down for a hybrid Honda Element. honda-reportedly-bringing-back-element-as-affordable-hybrid

Creating my ALUT proof of concept music player in Rust really got me excited about Rust. Oh the places we will go!

Rebuilding one of my favorite open source apps that’s a native Mac app in Rust as a cross platform app. Just because I want to see how it comes out.

IF someone were to ask me if I’m better off than 2 years ago I’d point to inflation which is still out of control, wars, gas prices, grocery prices and then shake my head “no”. We’re not better off than 2 years ago.

Burning tokens.

Couldn’t sleep. Will have to go to the eye doctor for a follow up visit as the eye scan was inconclusive in my right eye.

All other tests were normal so that’s good. Still worried though.

Had an interesting idea. Building a PoC.

ALUT — Audio Look-Up Table

A portable, content-authored EQ “render intent” that travels with an audio file — the audio analogue of a color LUT in video.

Instead of baking tone changes into a master, a creator (or listener) ships a tiny description of how the sound should be shaped, and any conforming player applies it in real time. Loudness already travels with content (ReplayGain) and dynamics can (MPEG-D DRC) — ALUT is the missing open, codec-agnostic spectral layer.

Took today off for Doctors visit and yearly tests.

Oddly it’s Tuesday but it’s also my Friday.

Scared the cat by blowing dust out of my keyboard. Took a while to coax her to come back.

Well I thought the database duplication had just crashed out harmlessly but in readlity it FUBARed everything. Nice going me.
