Did not sleep well. The boy is on about something and my blood sugar might have been really high. Got carb bombed off something.

FedEx: “How was your recent experience with FedEx?”

Me: “Well, since you asked…”

I did end up getting my package last night at 6:30pm. Only a day and 4 hours late. If they had an Amazon style “where is my package” tracker people wouldn’t  be pissed off at them. Instead what they have makes it look like they either lost or stole your package enroute. Not a good look. Defiinitely a fixable problem. They should throw some money at it and get it done. Reputation is everything.

I love the Luna Ultra. I only have one question, what’s this piece of open cell foam that was packed in it’s own little bag for? I don’t see it listed in the included items on the bos or in the instructions.

My Luna Ultra was lost by FedEx after it left Sacramento. I have never had a good experience where FedEx is concerned. If I had my druthers I’d never use them. In fact, they’re part of the reason I buy stuff in stores and shy away from ordering online. Amazon provides a much better shipping experience. You had one job FedEx. One job! Why you gotta be like that FedEx? 

Also, this ends the second full week of sharing something here everyday.

Supposedly my Luna Ultra is out for delivery on FedEx but it’s already changed delikvery times twice due to lateness and now it’s just saying “by end of day”. I have no love for FedEx.

FedEx gave my package to one of their drivers to deliver in the off hours because it wasn’t deliverd by end of day as they said it was. I’m sure it’s never going to get to me now or it’ll be broken.

I’m sure, as many of you are well aware, today is in fact…Friday. TGIF!

Posted that last big and got to wondering, do kids today even know what TGIF means?

Winds have changed direction. We’re getting smoke from the huge medical supply fire in Tracy. The air smells like burning plastic.

So…I did a thing yesterday. A thing being I made a web based version of my app in PHP and JavaScript. It’s exactly like this except you can access it from anywhere and don’t need to ftp anything. It runs right on your web server. It’s also very, VERY small.

If you’re interested in it I’ll be posting it on my github sometime soon for download.

Right now it doesn’t have github backup and I’m not sure that I’ll be adding that. 

It also doesn’t have a combo-key launch nor does it run in the menu bar of your Mac. This is a good setup for Linux or Windows users who want something similar. I’m thinking about adding a template system to the online one so the page template can be edited.

Ever have one of those moments where you go to your Github page and see unexpected things that are public and think, “Hmmmm…I hope those don’t contain anything that shouldn’t be public.” They didn’t.

Ordered the Insta360 Luna Ultra. Possibly the cutest hand held, gimbal stabilized, video camera on the market. It’s got amazing specs too like a 200mp pano image, 8k,/30 4k/120 video, 10 bit, i-log, and a 12x zoom. Don’t forget it’s also cute. 

Watched the live cam yesterday as they tore out the cafe at the Pacifica Pier.

I know people lost their business and it was an icon in the community but, the view is much improved with it gone.

I’m sure I also have the unpopular opinion that removing the pier would also be an improvement.

Why is this breaking? It was working fine and then suddenly it’s become an issue.

Evidently the new Apple software to run AI locally on your Mac runs best on an M5. Having just spent WAAAAY too much on a specced out MBP I am not upgrading to an M5 or anything else for 3-4 years. You lose Apple. Make it more affordable or make it work with the M4 Max’s.

Had to practically throw a bucket of ice water on the girl to get her to wake up and put her work clothes in the wash.

Math says it’ll be 95 degrees plus today.

Missed a day yesterday. Over 300 emails of which 35 were troubletickets, 10 regular emails, 1 from my boss, 1 from the cafe and the rest notification emails from processes that spawn and run. Read and marked them al lbecause Inbox Zero.

Not feeling the best this morning. Not sure what’s going on.

Been burning the candle with a blow torch. Think I need a day to recover.

Didn’t sleep so well last night. Now I want to take a 6 hour nap.

News is saying we might get rain next week. Really.

Athenos roasted garlic hummus is pretty good.

Wow! I’ve posted something here 6 out of 7 days this week so far. Maybe I’m on ot something.

When I trigger the quick entry there’s an additional line above but I don’t see it in the output so it must be a display bug that doesn’t affect the render. Good enough.

I have to say, I’ve made a couple of different RSS readers of late and nothing ever felt quite right. They always seemed very “cookie cutter” but the IDE RSS reader is fun and quiet easy to read. I really like it.

Sat outside in the sun for half an hour. I can’t get this song out of my head now.

People think: “Oh well, you’re coding it with AI so it’s super easy.” If it were that easy why the F@#$ am I so stressed out? S#!& goes south just as much with AI as it does when doing it by hand. It just goes faster and farther.

I think if they remade The Princess Bride today, they should cast Shaq as Fezzik.

You can take me out of the designer role but eventually you’ll have me designing something for you.

Now who would make an RSS reader that looked and functioned like VS Code and even used VS Code themes? Oh yeah, me!

The girl wanted to make her own cold foam and tried using heavy whipping cream. I tried to explain that it was made with hydrogenated vegetable oil, the same as the filling in Oreo’s. Needless to say it wasn’t the same so I now have heavy whipping cream to mix with milk (efffectively half and half) in my morning coffee.

Serendipity has been running rampant last couple of days.

It’s weird that at this point it’s humans that are slowing me down.

Well it looks like we won’t be integrating it with the Shortcuts.app for Mac as this requires wrapping the project in Xcode. A little annoying you can’t just do it in Swift which is Apple’s own language.

Ok, bugs are fixed and new features have been added including a rich text editor, html editing,  adding photos from the editor from the media library or the machine directly, a post inspector and we’re now using Liquid Glass.

Not to mention the sftp bug was fixed and the github storage bug.

Trying the new release of WordPress 7 and the Desktop Mode plugin from Automattic. Interesting. Pretty clunky that it iframes in the original UI instead of having it’s own UI but an interesting concept none the less.

I still love WordPress but I’ve been feeling more drawn to ClassicPress and Django of late. Django is hard though because you can’t run it in a traditional hosting environment.

For those not familiar with ClassicPress, it’s a fork of WordPress without the Gutenberg block editing. It’s a smaller, cleaner code base that works just the same as WordPress.

Well, unless you’re using the block editor. Then it doesn’t work the same. It relies on the TinyMCE editing panel of old WordPress from 10 years ago.

72 degrees Farenheit at 7:40 in the morning. It’s going to be hot today. 3 degrees/hour * 8 hours + 72 = 96 degrees Farenheit. Simple math.

I changed the title and description but it wouldn’t push to the server. I had to go into the rendered copy on the server and make the change there.

This app works but I think I may need to revisit it. It could use some love.

Export is broken and the image upload is clunky.

I think I’d also like to create a command line interface for it as well.

I wrote an outline that works online. I wonder if there’s a way to connect the two. Maybe some kind of sync for the outliner.
